Work Experience

Our Work Experience package includes:

  • Health, Safety and Safeguarding assessments of employers with results recorded on the database
  • Password protected access to a database detailing companies that have taken work experience pupils previously
  • Talks to pupils during school assemblies or lessons
  • Work Experience logbooks and leaflets for employers, parents and pupils
  • Attendance at EBP network meetings for school co-ordinators

Off Site Learning

We ensure that schools who wish to place pupils in Off Site Learning as an alternative to a school-based curriculum have information at their finger-tips.

We do this by providing a comprehensive directory of approved Off Site Learning Providers which have been checked in terms of health, safety and safeguarding.  The directory contains information on each provider, in terms of their provision, giving pupils who wish to follow an alternative curriculum out of school.

Volunteers

Are you a company or an individual willing to share your knowledge of work with young people?

The EBP deliver Work Related Learning activities to young people in Sandwell and surrounding areas.  We seek volunteers from the world of work to share their experiences of education, training and employment with young people.

  • Speaking to small groups of pupils about education, training and employment.
  • Supporting schools with enterprise challenges where pupils are given real life business problems to solve
  • Supporting schools with other activities such as mock interviews
  • Shadowing opportunities for teachers so they can apply what they are teaching to the ‘real world’
  • Work experience placements for pupils

Testimonials

Mock interviews: Organisation was excellent.  Employers arrived promptly.  The procedure pupils had to follow was well organised and clear from their arrival through to receiving feedback.  There was no confusion to cause unnecessary worry for pupils given that they were already a little nervous.
